Emergency Procedures for First Responders

  1. Identify the vehicle: “ROBOTAXI” / Cybercab markings, distinct light bars, gold coloration, no driver, B-pillar door buttons.
  2. Approach safely: Vehicle will attempt Minimal Risk Condition (pull over + hazards). Yield to sirens/lights.
  3. Call immediately: Bay Robotaxi (832) 400-3010 (primary) or Tesla Robotaxi First Responder Support (512) 276-5391.
  4. Confirm disengagement: Rapid hazard flashing + no “SELF-DRIVING” on touchscreen.
  5. Occupant access: Doors unlock automatically. Two-way audio + interior cameras available. Red emergency stop button inside.

Performing a Stop

  1. Pull up behind the Robotaxi vehicle.
  2. Turn on sirens and emergency lights.
  3. Vehicle pulls over and rapidly flashes hazards (Autonomous Mode disengages).
  4. Establish communications with Bay (primary) and/or Tesla support.
  5. Confirm no “SELF-DRIVING” on touchscreen (top left).
  6. Immobilize: Cage/chock wheels; request remote assistance.
  7. (If needed) Cut First Responder Loop per Rescue Sheet.

Responding to an Incident (e.g., Collision)

  1. Pull up behind; activate lights.
  2. Establish comms with Bay/Tesla support.
  3. Confirm Autonomous Mode off (rapid hazards + no SELF-DRIVING indicator).
  4. Immobilize vehicle.
  5. (If needed) Double-cut First Responder Loop (hood primary / B-pillar secondary) to disable.
  6. Access occupants; follow high-voltage protocols.

Completing a Stop or Incident

  1. Remove immobilization measures.
  2. Confirm completion with Bay/Tesla support.
  3. Request towing/cleanup if needed (flatbed only).
  • Power Down / Disable: Red emergency button or remote via hotline/support.
  • High-Voltage Shutdown: Double-cut First Responder Loop (see Tesla Cybercab Rescue Sheet). Treat orange cables/battery as live.
  • Fire: Large volume of water to cool battery from underneath. Monitor 24+ hrs for re-ignition. Do not fully submerge.
  • Towing: Flatbed only. Request Tesla remote move if possible. Nearest Tesla Service.
  • Insurance: Full commercial AV liability. Verify via TexasSure / TLETS using license plate.
